Orphan home demolished
in Kenya
This above timeline is a factual account of events which
took place at the Fountain of Life Church and Children’s
Home on the evening of December 19, 2006 in the Mathare
Valley area of Nairobi. The property was demolished at
the hands of an angry Muslim mob.
The article also tells the amazing story about a young
boy named Isaac and how God has blessed him at the
Fountain of Life so that he can be a blessing to others.
In response to the mob attack, the Fountain of Life
continues to love the Muslim community in that area of
Nairobi as a witness of God's grace.
Temporary facilities for the children at Fountain of
Life (including housing, class rooms, dining hall and
bunk house) have been graciously provided by the Lord
and efforts are underway to raise funds sufficient to
rebuild the ministry on a permanent basis.

Pastor James Mbai, whom God used along with his wife,
Florence, to start the Fountain of Life ministry in
2000, went Home to be with the Lord on May 25, 2006.
Florence has continued her family's passion for serving
the children of the Nairobi slums to God's glory. We
give God glory for the blessing that it was to serve the
children of Nairobi alongside Pastor Mbai.

June 2007 - Items needed for Africa Mission Trip
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The following is a list of items that the orphans need
in Africa. We would like to bring as much as we can of
the following items:
Band-Aids
Multi-vitamins for boys
Soccer balls
$5.00 - $8.00 for shoes
(There is a place close to the orphanage that hand-makes
custom shoes for only $5.00 a pair. It will be more cost
effective to buy the shoes there instead of us bringing
them over.)
T-shirts for boys (NOT WHITE in color) - all youth sizes
Men's dress shirt (size 16 1/2) - washable
Men's suit (size 44)
Pillowcases
Towels

Messengers of hope; Couple cares for Nairobi's orphan
kids
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Fountain of Life is now providing faith, hope and love
to 60 children. Among the children being cared for is a
baby named Moses. A woman found a two-day old baby lying
in a plastic bag in a trash dump in the slums. Like the
good Samaritan, the woman could not ignore the faint
cries of the little child and, with the help of Fountain
of Life, is caring for the baby, who has been named
Moses and who is now two months old (as of December
2005). Praise God for His provision and love for
children in need.
The FOL has teamed with Orphan Lifeline (a 501(c)(3)
non-profit located in Castle Rock, Colorado, U.S.A.) to
build a permanent living facility at the FOL for the
children. This was built the Spring of 2005 and can
house 80 children. Because of the new facility, each
child can now sleep in his own bed, usually for the
first time in his life.
A mission team from Texas is scheduled to visit the FOL
during March of 2006. If anyone wants the mission team
to take any donations of items to the FOL in March, they
can contact Rob Melvin at rob@melvinandhall.com or Mike
Vinson at vinson68@msn.com.
